Two Hours Without Sun (2024) is a series created with sumi ink on Japanese paper, born from a spontaneous collaboration between Ali Eyal and David Horvitz. Working in alternation, the artists traded between writing and forming the abstract ink-ground drawings.

Each piece records the temperature and weather conditions of every location saved in their phones at the moment the project began. Evoking themes of distance and longing, these locations reflect places the artists might currently inhabit or once lived in, destinations they have traveled to, and places where family members reside.
