Shkrepëtima, 2019

Shkrepëtima, 2019. Ink drawing on paper from the former House of Culture in Runik (Skenderaj), framed: 37 × 32.7 × 4 cm

The work is part of a series of conceptual drawings and studies of the performance Shkrepëtima, on found documents from the Runik House of Culture. These are commercial invoices that were part of the archive of the local cooperative, testimony of a daily activity of a reality that no longer exists. Drawn on the documents are depictions of neolithic bird-like artefacts, jokes taken from theatrical scripts, studies for bird costumes and props used in the show. The drawings represent a conceptual storyboard of the performance that occurred in Runik and a visual portrait of the cultural history of the village in which the past meets the present.
