Norwegian artist Tyra Tingleff presents a new series of abstract paintings for her 2025 solo exhibition Pulse / Pause, marking a significant evolution in her visual language. Unified by a vivid palette of reds and purples, the works further her exploration of oil paint’s fluid unpredictability, now thinned to an even greater degree. Departing from the loose gestures of her earlier style, Tingleff adopts a more structured, almost symmetrical approach, while retaining the organic, emotive depth that defines her practice. Her layered compositions evoke blooming forms, bruises, or bodies—sensual and ambiguous, yet never literal. Balancing control and spontaneity, these paintings unfold in cycles of intensity and calm, creating a poetic space where the intimate and abstract seamlessly converge.
