El diente dorado del caballo regalado

Revolver, Lima

21 June – 13 July 2013

On June 21st, Revolver Gallery opened the exhibition “El diente dorado del caballo regalado” (The Golden Teeth of the donated Horse) by Mexican artist Alejandro Almanza Pereda (born 1977). This project is the result of the artist’s residence in Lima.
They say that when you die you can not take anything beyond, which is true, but it is also true that the person leaves beyond a collection of objects, a kind of self-portrait or biography of his life. Objects and stories create different relationships between them.
Human beings interact with objects throughout their life. Each object has connotations of value, materiality, temporality and affection. In trying to make an unexplained diagram, different parts are converted into a composition of elements where each is crucial for the balance of the structure, removing one, the whole system would collapse.
